Who Are We?

John Carlo Quintal and Julio Granda founded Iron City Incorporated in April 2024.  They provide a wide range of welding services as a local mobile welding company in Canada.  They met in 2016 when they began working for a local steel company, where they connected and formed a close friendship. They recognized each other's strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to operate effectively and efficiently on each job site.  Noticing how they both complimented each other with each job they accomplished together, they decided to leave their jobs and start their own company.

John Carlo Quintal

I began my welding and steel industry career by sweeping floors at my family's business, which taught me the value of hard labor and hands-on experience.  Over the last 15 years, I've established a solid foundation in the profession before deciding to take the leap and develop a mobile welding business with my friend and mentor, Julio Granda.  Working outside the family business taught me how to rapidly adjust to different situations and overcome a variety of challenges.  I pride myself on being friendly, easygoing, open-minded, and always focused on understanding and delivering what the customer wants. I learnt the ins and outs of the industry through years of observation and experience, and eventually realized "I can do this." I took what I learned and applied it in a way that provided more freedom and flexibility, with the goal of never returning to a shop again - hence the "mobile company."  With Julio, who I consider like a brother, I believe our shared ideas and determination allow us to tackle any obstacle together.

Julio Granda

With almost 30 years of experience, I've built my career from the ground up. Starting at the bottom, through hard work, patience, and the guidance of my foremen, I steadily worked my way up to becoming a foreman myself.   Now I take pride in passing down all I've learned to the next generation, teaching them an easy, effective, and efficient approach to complete the task at hand, rather than the difficult way I had to learn.  Life has given me both challenges and blessings, and I've learned that what doesn't kill you truly makes you stronger. I believe in keeping your head up, being patient, always standing firm and never forgetting to think things through before jumping in.  When it comes to work, I believe it should be your top priority to take pride in your work, never cut corners, and aim for perfection.
